Mrs. Hat Hoy is an Indigenous farmer from Phnom Rei village, located in Ta Taok commune, Samlot district, Battambang province. She is an active member of her community and serves as a model farmer, having received training in agriculture and livestock farming from the Sustainable Soil for Life Association (SSLA).
With support from SSLA, Mrs. Hat Hoy received a chicken coop measuring 7m x 10m and built a vegetable garden around her home.
Project Objectives:
• To train farmers in raising chickens and producing animal feed by themselves
• To reduce household expenses
• To create opportunities for selling agricultural products and livestock (chickens) to generate income and improve family livelihoods.
We hope that indigenous farmer Hat Hoy’s family will have enough food to eat and that her standard of living will improve through the practice of natural and sustainable agriculture.
